I wrote the following in a little journal of mine the other day:
"I can't wait to hear Jesus' perspective of his time on earth."
"Really, I just can't wait to meet him."

I dunno, even for a believer, this meeting could be pretty scary. Even if one's sins are forgiven, they're still recorded ...

DeleteThat's true, and I can understand how that would be scary. But since our sins are forgiven, there are absolutely no eternal consequences for our sin. :) that's exciting to me.
thanks for commenting. I really appreciate that you take the time to read what I post :D

@Dave P. once again,
DeleteI would encourage you to consider these passages of Scripture:
"for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."
2 Tim 1:7
"There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love."
1 John 4:18.
have a great day :)

These are great verses. I would venture to say that most Christians in the US, myslef included, have NOT been perfected in love yet, to the extent that we would feel totally comfortable sitting with Jesus and reviewing all our bad behaviour from the past.
ReplyDeleteI understand. I think the thought of judgement day evokes a sort of fear and awe of God that is GOOD to have! I agree with you on that point. but it's nice that we know we're forgiven, so we don't have to worry about those sins landing us in hell.
